The business idea that started a new trend!
For decades, authorities in the Nordic countries have encouraged the usage of reflectors for personal safety in traffic. People then knew they were a life saving necessity, but often found the reflectors uninteresting. They were often hard and uncomfortable to wear, because of very long strings and sharp safety pins that were attached to them.
Two innovative engineers Ewa Romö and Kersti Kempe soon changed all that… The Popomax story began in 2002, when Ewa and Kersti first met at a party and started an interesting discussion about innovative products, whilst realising there could be a market demand for their ideas. The soft Glimmis® reflector was one of their first designs.
Soon after this, they resigned from their positions at large companies. With new found energy they rapidly went from business idea, to creating a new company, with the intention of putting their innovative ideas into development. This was a decision that they wouldn’t regret…
Today, reflectors are more fashionable. The Glimmis® is worn all year-around amongst youngsters and adults all over the world. It is soft and easy to use, and is available in various designs for each individual and personality.
The Glimmis® is followed by a range of other functional products. The demand from the global market is increasing and Popomax is now facing an international expansion.
